ANIMA LIBERA
“A thousand years in the world, a thousand more, what a wonderful lie you are, my soul, and how great is my time, what a solitude, what a beautiful company”
[“Anime salve” © Fabrizio De André/Ivano Fossati]

Inspired by the music album “Anime Salve”, I want to sing, with this series of self-portraits, a praise of solitude and of the importance of being with our own selves. I believe that solitude, as a choice and a research, is a wonderful state of freedom, thanks to which everyone can feed his own authentic individuality and increase his personal awareness, to live his life and his relationships with the world as well as he can. Far away from any distraction and free from external influences, the soul is back in touch with its inner instinct and it can find again the concentration needed to feed its creative life and to reflect on the several shades of reality, starting by itself. By this point of view, self-portrait becomes a conceptual choice, a way to narrate and research. In this dimension of quietness, the soul arises again cyclically, bright and shimmering, dancing lightly with the eternal flux of all things.
